Venture is the third stage for members of UABC. This stage represents all "Great Commission" ministries of the church. Our charge is taken from Matthew 28:16-20 and Acts 1:8. Our Venture stage represents ministries to the entire world-beginning right here in Midtown.
The gospel of Jesus Christ has radically changed each person who has accepted Him as Lord and Savior. We at Union Avenue believe that we are to be agents of change in the world as well. We believe that since Creator God takes us, broken and sinful, and breathes new spiritual life into us through the power of the gospel, then we too can put the gospel into action in practical ways in a broken and sinful society. We seek to make a difference in persons’ lives and in the community through practical ways while building bridges to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We offer ESL classes at our church. We help feed the hungry and take care of the homeless through our Hospitality Network involvement. We also seek to take on random community service projects to help make Midtown a better place to live. The gospel message of Christ’s salvation is at the core of why we are involved in Venture ministries.
2 Cor. 5:18-21
“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
